You will be providing 1:1 Direct Support to 1 person served daily with recreational activities, life enrichment skills, and community inclusion. Driving is an essential function of this role. We are willing to train persons with a passion for helping others-this is an entry-level job. No degree or prior experience is required. In this role, you will,Provide direct support for people with disabilities (This position is specifically hiring for a 1:1 Direct Support Role. Working with 1 individual daily) Other Centerbased Direct Support Roles present provide support at a 1:4 ratio.Model appropriate behavior and interactions for your 1 person served.Position may include using equipment to transfer adults to/from wheelchairs. The person served who you will be working with in a 1:1 support role, does not use any transfer equipment or wheelchairs.Assist with personal care for your 1 person served.Celebrate and inspire personal growth for the person you support as they work toward their goals.Support your 1 person served in community activities; this includes transportation in the community using RIse vans.Provide daily transportation support for your 1 person served riding Rise buses and vans.Requirements:What you will need:Willingness to learn and a passion for working with persons with disabilitiesFlexible and work collaboratively with a teamMaintain a calm demeanor while de-escalating those occasional difficult situationsCreate, and update documentation using an electronic system.
