This Physical Therapist Assistant opportunity is based in St. Paul, Minnesota, a vibrant capital city known for its historic charm, tree-lined neighborhoods, and easy access to the Mississippi River. St. Paul offers a welcoming community feel with big-city amenities, including diverse restaurants, cultural events, theaters, museums, and beautiful parks and trails, making it an appealing location for both work and relaxation during your assignment.The position is in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting, focused on delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to adults and older adults recovering from illness, surgery, or chronic conditions. You will work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team that may include physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and case managers, all committed to patient-centered care and functional outcomes.This is a 13-week assignment with 8-hour day shifts, providing a structured schedule that supports work-life balance and time to explore the St. Paul area. A typical day includes assisting with evaluations under the direction of a physical therapist, implementing individualized treatment plans, progressing therapeutic exercises and functional mobility training, and documenting care in the EMR in a timely and accurate manner. You will support patients with activities such as gait training, balance work, transfer training, strengthening, and endurance activities tailored to each persons goals and abilities.Patient caseload is primarily geriatric, with a mix of short-term rehab and long-term care residents. You can expect a consistent, manageable caseload with clear productivity expectations and support from on-site therapy leadership. The environment emphasizes collaboration, communication, and quality outcomes, providing a solid setting to further develop your SNF-specific skills and experience.St. Pauls convenient location within the Twin Cities metro offers easy access to Minneapolis, major sporting events, live music, festivals, and year-round outdoor recreation, from riverfront walks to nearby lakes and trails.
