challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
- Managing and developing a staff of legal professionals
- Reporting to the Optum Financial General Counsel, oversee the
delivery of legal services and related support to Optum Financial's
Commercial Payments business
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Optum Financial and
UnitedHealth Group legal department
- Proactively identifying and resolving legal and related matters
impacting Optum Financial's Commercial Payments business.
-Assisting in the review, preparation and negotiation of various
products, documents and contracts associated with Optum Financial's
Commercial Payments business
- Participating in and leading negotiations with key customers
and vendors
- Developing best practices for addressing emerging legal and
business risks
- Supporting Optum Financial's Commercial Payments business
development and delivery of new products
- Working in partnership with the Compliance team
- Counseling senior management on strategic business
initiatives
- Managing outside counsel
- Fostering key regulatory relationshipsThe successful candidate
will possess solid verbal and written communication skills, sound
judgment and business instincts. The ability to lead people and
change is also critical. The ability to delegate work and operate
in a matrixed environment will be important qualities for the
successful candidate. Prior law firm and in-house experience are
desired, as is experience managing a team of legal
professionals.You'll be rewarded and recognized for your

in.Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree and active license to practice law
- 10+ years of experience
- 5+ years of management experience
- Proven knowledge of state and federal financial services
laws
- Proven knowledge of and demonstrated experience applying
relevant financial services laws to B2B and B2C payment products
and solutions a plus- Knowledge of health care, insurance, privacy
and related laws
- Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers,
subordinates and external company contacts
- Proven track record demonstrating the ability to independently
make decisions regarding complex legal and corporate issues
- Driver's License and access to reliable transportation*All

role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time
employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not
limited to local labor markets, education, work experience,
certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum
